As your Volvo dealer near Bennington, we here at Bedard Brothers Volvo Cars are always working hard to provide you with plenty of choices and give you the information you need to decide which one is right for you. That's why we've put together this guide to all of the plug-in hybrids in Volvo's 2024 lineup. Before you head out to visit our Cheshire, MA dealership in person, you can get familiar with your options and think about which one suits your needs best.

SUVs

There are plenty of reasons why drivers love SUVs. They have more ground clearance than cars, giving you a higher vantage point in traffic. They also have large open cargo areas that can be expanded by folding the back seats down, letting you find the right balance between passenger space and cargo space for each trip, so you can carpool one day and go antiquing around Vermont the next without missing a beat. Traditionally, the downside to this high stance and large interior is low fuel economy, but with Volvo's efficient plug-in hybrid SUVs, you can have your cake and eat it.

Compact: XC60 Recharge

The 2024 XC60 Recharge is highly versatile, so you can be ready for whatever life throws at you. Its small size is easy to maneuver, but the clever design makes the interior feel spacious. All of Volvo's plug-in hybrid Recharge models use the same T8 powertrain. With gas and electric power combined, you can enjoy 455 hp and a stout towing capacity of up to 3,500 lbs. Of course, that power is created efficiently, allowing you to get an estimated 63 MPGe combined. You also get approximately 36 miles of range in all-electric mode for silent, zero-emissions operation.

The XC60 Recharge is available in four different equipment levels. The Core model has standard features like a Panoramic roof to help you take in scenic Vermont views and a two-zone climate system to keep everyone happy in all kinds of weather. Upgrade to Plus to get a built-in air purifier to help you breathe easy and a 360-degree camera that lets you see the entire area around your vehicle, among other useful features. With Ultimate, you get a premium Harman Kardon sound system that turns the cabin into a concert hall, plus front seat ventilation for muggy summer heat and a head-up display that lets you see vital information without taking your eyes off the road. The top-tier Polestar Engineered level comes with unique chassis tuning, a distinctive front grille, and exclusive wheel designs.

Three-Row: XC90 Recharge

Stepping up to the XC90 Recharge gets you an extra row of seating, so you can fit up to seven people inside and still have room left over for cargo. The larger SUV also has a higher towing capacity and is able to handle up to 5,000 lbs. While the 455 hp T8 powertrain setup isn't quite as efficient in the larger XC90 as it is in the XC60, it's still plenty impressive compared to the average 2024 vehicle, boasting a 58 MPGe fuel economy rating and an estimated 33-mile electric range. While the XC90 Recharge doesn't have a Polestar Engineered level, it does have Core, Plus, and Ultimate levels similar to those on the XC60.

Sedans

Where SUVs are large and stand high for transporting plenty of people and cargo, sedans are sleek and have a lower center of gravity that gives them improved driving dynamics. While their sealed trunks aren't as spacious as open cargo areas, they are more secure. On top of that, sedans are more aerodynamic and efficient, providing more all-electric range and better fuel economy than SUVs.

Compact: S60 Recharge

The S60 Recharge is perfect for Bennington commuters who want something sleek and stylish. It's also the most affordable option we're looking at, making it a great entry-level choice for drivers who are ready to treat themselves to their first luxury vehicle. In this smaller package, Volvo's 455 hp T8 powertrain has an even more impressive fuel economy rating of 74 MPGe and delivers an estimated 40 miles of all-electric range. The 2024 S60 Recharge can also tow up to 2,000 lbs, so you can use a trailer to get extra cargo space when you need it without carrying around extra weight when you don't.

The Core level of the S60 Recharge comes standard with Google services in the infotainment system, a panoramic roof, and heated front seats, among other features. Like the SUVs, it also has a Plus level that adds an air purifier and other goodies. The top-tier Ultimate has a Harman Kardon sound system, head-up display, and power cushion extender to provide extra support to drivers with long legs.

Midsize: S90 Recharge

Unlike its SUV counterpart, the S90 Recharged doesn't add a third row of seats. Instead, it gives everyone onboard extra space to stretch out and get comfortable. Taller and longer than the S60, this midsize sedan gives backseat passengers an extra five inches of legroom, and those up front get an extra inch of shoulder room while everyone gets another inch of hip room. You'll also get two cubic feet of extra space in the trunk, so you can bring more cargo along for the ride. Though not quite as spectacular as the S60 Recharge's figures, the 2024 S90 Recharge's 66 MPGe estimated fuel economy and 38-mile electric range are certainly nothing to sneeze at. The S90 Recharge has Plus and Ultimate levels similar to those on the S60, but no Core level.

Wagons

If you love a good road trip, a wagon may just be the perfect fit for you. This body style combines the aerodynamic shape of a sedan with the open cargo area of an SUV. You'll get great fuel economy for long trips up and down Route 7 and enough cargo space to pack up all of your luggage and still have room to collect souvenirs along the way.

V60 Recharge

The V60 Recharge has a lot in common with the S60 Recharge. It is almost the same size, has the same 74 MPGe estimated fuel economy, and offers 41 miles of electric range. However, where the S60 has a roof that slopes down dramatically in the rear for the sealed trunk, the V60 wagon's roof stays high enough to accommodate a versatile open cargo area. With the rear seats folded down, you have 60.5 cu.ft. of cargo volume to play with-that's not too far off from the 63.3 cu.ft. you get with the XC60 SUV. The 2024 V60 Recharge is offered with just one equipment level--Polestar Engineered--which has a specially engineered chassis, forged alloy wheels, and Brembo brakes.
